Masdevallia Watering System

Masdevallias require a tight watering schedule if grown indoors under lights. An upcoming trip prompted the need for an automated watering system.

She found one which is easy to setup and would water them every day at a set time for 2 minutes.

The hard part was installing the flexible silicone tubing in a way that is easy for her to get to the plants and not be so hard that the tubing would push the plants apart. The tubing with the kit was ‘stiff’ and ungiving, so opted for a silicone tube of the the same diameter, which worked great.
