Pat Calvey

Pat has been growing for over 30 years. In my experience, her plants are, always, impeccable. We would all do well to maintain the health of our plants like Pat can! Here in our inaugural Members’ Corner Pat has graciously submitted her Dendrobium Salaya Stripe (Unregistered hybrid). Pat says this is grown outdoors in Summer and under high pressure sodium bulb on a motorized track in Winter. Pat does such a great job with these Dendrobiums that it is no wonder it is her favorite Genus to grow. I had one of her Dendrobiums in Chicago for a show years ago and I was taken aback at the stir it caused… a beautiful deep rich purple Dendrobium.. I grew weary answering, “who grew that?” But, I was proud to say: “Our Member, Pat Calvey!” (See a facsimile of Pat’s light set up below.)
